Last Escape

Shattered and lonely
The sun is only an illusion
Darkness spreads its mass confusion
This city is going to hell
The last of the protection has fell
No escape from this place
An apocalypse of untold horror
Caused by the lies of others
And now innocent people die
And the few survivors cry

One survivor has seen this before
She knows the score
Knows who is responsible for the pain
The loss of everything she cares about
Her friends and family have been slain
Her home and belongings destroyed
She has almost nothing left
Revenge has taken over her mind
The ones who did this she will find
With a gun in her hand an a smile on her face
She'll be there to make them pay for their disgrace

But first comes survival
To escape this dying city
As it slowly crumbles to the ground
And the life she once knew fades away
And like a sound from yesterday
It is now forever gone
Now the sun sets and the journey has begun
A journey that will echo with the shots of a gun

The hardest part is yet to come
For the aftershock of this doom
Will be reflected in the midnight gloom
And as sunlight greets open wounds
A lone helicopter flees the burning city
And as it heads into the rising sun
The first stage of this journey is done....
