Long ago when i was little
The feeling of joy and happiness
A smile was wide as Earth itself
A cuddly little friend to love and keep as mine

We would play fetch until the sun went down
And until we could play no more
The big eyes looking at me
My love for you was exceptional

While i grew, you grew too
But time stood still while we were playing
BUt now as a young adult
I wish i could re-live those memories

"Fred" i called you, my dear old friend
I hoped that you went to doggy heaven
My heart still aches from my loss
Wishing that you could live again
Just once more.....
