Is there a preferred Legends ship upgrade path?

hello,



Is there a preferred upgrade path from the Cutter, I was thinking that I would skip the Brig and build enough experience to grab the Navy Brig as my first upgrade, then maybe stick with that until I could afford a Frigate class,



what is the general recommendation? get every ship, or target at specific upgrade paths, and then go back later and pick up lower level ships you skipped?



there are so few people online in game, that any one that responds here will be helpful,
